GLASS FIBER REINFORCEMENTS

All woven glass fabrics within this category are suitable for processing by all standard methods including wet-lay, vacuum bag and resin infusion and using all typical resin systems including epoxy, polyester and vinylester. Woven glass fabric can be used on its own as the reinforcement for fiberglass/GRP moulds or components, or can be combined with other types of reinforcement such as carbon fiber or synthetic fibers to produce a laminate with particular properties.

Chopped strand mat is the classic reinforcement for traditional 'hand layup' fiberglass jobs, especially together with polyester laminating resin.

WOVEN ARAMID / KEVLAR CLOTG REINFORCEMENTS

Aramid fibers are very high tenacity man-made fibers with excellent mechanical properties in tensile strength and especially in elongation-to-break, they also have extremely high resistance to heat, impact and abrasion.

Kevlar cloth is frequently used in laminates for motorsport, canoes, kayaks, ballistics and much more. This dry Kevlar® fabric is suitable for use with most composite lamination methods including hand-layup, vacuum bagging and resin infusion. To ensure a good bond between the matrix and the aramid fiber, epoxy resin is recommended for use with aramid reinforcements.
